Terms of use
FirstDrop tells you when rain or severe weather is about to reach a place you care about. It is a forecast, not a guarantee, and it never replaces an official warning. Everything else below is the detail.

FirstDrop is run by one person, not a company. This agreement is between you and me — not between you and Apple or Google. They distribute the app and handle payment; they are not responsible for the app itself.
The most important thing on this page
FirstDrop does not replace official weather warnings, and you must not rely on it as if it did. In dangerous weather, follow the guidance of DMI and the emergency services.
Weather forecasting is uncertain, and a short-range radar nowcast is uncertain in specific ways worth understanding:
- Rain that is forecast may not arrive, and rain that arrives may not have been forecast.
- Accuracy falls off sharply with lead time. The app measures its own accuracy against the radar that actually arrives and will not send an alert further ahead than it has earned that day — but "measured" is not "certain".
- Radar can be wrong about intensity, and can miss rain entirely in some conditions.
- An alert depends on your phone, its network, its battery and its notification settings. Alerts can be late or not arrive at all, and there are conditions under which no alert is sent.
So do not use FirstDrop as the only input to a decision where being wrong is dangerous or expensive — sailing, working at height, aviation, agriculture, emergency response, or protecting property. It is built to help you decide whether to bring a jacket, move the bike, or get the car off a low street. That is the job it is good at.
What you get for free
The full Nordic radar map, the nowcast, rain alerts for saved places, follow-me alerts that track your phone, lightning, widgets, and up to three saved places. All official severe-weather warnings are free for everyone and always will be — gating a life-safety warning behind a payment is not something this app will ever do.
Premium
A subscription adds unlimited saved places, cloudburst (skybrud) alerts, and quiet hours. It is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or annual, usually with a free trial. The exact price and trial length are shown in the app before you buy and in the App Store listing; they are set per country, so the price you see is the price that applies.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending. If you take a free trial and do not cancel before it ends, it becomes a paid subscription.
Cancelling and refunds
Apple and Google are the sellers, not me. Cancel in your device's subscription settings — on iOS, Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the period you have paid for runs out.
Refunds are handled by the store, under its own policy, and I cannot issue them. On iOS, use reportaproblem.apple.com. If you are a consumer in the EU, your statutory rights — including any right of withdrawal that applies to a purchase through the store — are unaffected by anything on this page.
If something has gone wrong and the store will not help, write to me anyway. I would rather sort it out than have you stuck.
The one ad
There are no ads in FirstDrop except one you choose: at a Premium wall you may watch a short video to unlock that feature for a day instead of paying. It is never shown unless you tap it, it is capped, and Premium never sees it. Ads are requested non-personalised, so your location is never shared with advertisers. Watching is entirely optional and nothing in the app is worse if you never do.
Your data
Covered separately and properly in the privacy policy. The short version: there is no account, location data is kept to a minimum, it stays in the EU, and it is never sold.
Fair use
Use the app normally and you will never think about this section. Please do not try to break into the service, scrape or resell the data behind it, overload it, or pull it apart to rebuild it as something else. The weather data itself comes from national meteorological institutes under open licences and is credited in the app; what is mine is the app, the service and the name.
Changes, and the app going away
The app changes as it is developed — features are added, and occasionally one is removed or reworked. If a change materially reduces what a paid subscription gives you, you can cancel and I would encourage you to. If FirstDrop is ever shut down, I will say so in the app and on this site with as much notice as I can, and I will not take payment for a period I know will not be served.
If these terms change, the date at the top changes. Significant changes are announced in the app.
Liability
FirstDrop is provided as it is. I do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate about the weather, and to the extent the law allows, I am not liable for losses arising from relying on it — see the second section of this page for why that matters here.
What the law does not allow to be excluded is not excluded. As a consumer in Denmark or elsewhere in the EU you have mandatory rights that no term on this page overrides, and nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Law
Danish law applies, and the Danish courts have jurisdiction — but if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country and may bring a claim there. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
Apple
Where you got FirstDrop from the App Store: this agreement is with me and not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for it. If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Any claim about the app — liability, product safety, intellectual property, consumer protection — is directed to me, not Apple. You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not on any US Government prohibited-parties list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you.
